We lost you today, leaving sadness within the very depths of our souls; the loss of a friend whom our country had grown to respect and be truly thankful for. We are a part of Canada; the country you vowed to serve and protect from harm. We are aware of our darkness; there is no world outside on this day. There is no control, nor is there a need for control, of the pain that wells up within all Canadians at the thought of you. We see the light of day; we see the dawn and the sunset because of You! It is in our hearts, where we will hold our precious memories of You!

 Our pain of losing You is measured by the greatness of your commitment; therefore I can not begin to recount the measure of the pain we feel. You were given to this world as a precious gift; You had a purpose on this earth and I say to all, “You have fulfilled it”!  You left a part of yourself in every life you touched ; be it near or from a distance; be it in words spoken or in deeds done. You are within our thoughts; you will remain forever within our hearts. Your Purpose was A Great One!!!

 When, in our moments of grief, your memory reaches out to each of us and we hear your courageous cries.... We will always remember that Your Memory Must Stand for Greatness From Where You Have Fallen! Therefore, We, as a country, will walk for you. We carry you with us in our hearts. We will pick up your light and lift it high. We will fight with the strength of your memory..... For the Peace of Our Country! 

Our feet may not always carry us on the road We must take but We will not be defeated in the fall because We will walk in your footsteps after you.  We, as a country, will walk hand in hand with others who grieve, with the conviction in our hearts that your life has stood for greatness; knowing that the  loss of You has become the  foundation of our Country’s determination to stand  together; walking hand in hand, with the strength of You in our memories.... Toward your goal of Peace!

 Then, when in my heart I look back on your path of life, I will not see where you fell!
