You stand tall from where you sit, My Friend, an example for anyone to be proud to follow. You stand up for what you believe in and yet, you have a strength of heart such as I have never known before.
You devote your life to caring for others; you represent what it means to be a pillar of Hope in the community of our world. You have a way of making others believe that there truly is Hope and you, My Friend, are an amazing example of it.
Within your little room, you stand tall from where you sit, My Friend. You reach the hearts of many thousands who turn to you even when they do not know you. You give them Hope in the face of hopelessness and Faith where there seems to be no light. As they sleep, you ensure that there will be another day of your precious work given to our world, a priceless gift to each and every one of us.
How precious you are to my life, My Friend; how precious a gift you are to this world! You represent the true meaning of Strength. Your strength is a gift to me from God. Your friendship is a treasure I hold dear. I look up to you from where I sit, My Friend, because I respect the man you are in my world. I respect the meaning you give to life.
One day not so many years ago a child named George was born and only God then knew of the plans He had for him; now those plans have been revealed to the world. Through your battle and your pain, you reached out beyond it to a place called ALS Independence and became our teacher. Where did you get that big heart, My Friend? How lucky I am to be a memory in it!
Thank you for being my dear Friend. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the world you live in. Thank you for allowing me to take up space in your life. Thank you for giving me the honour and privilege of walking beside you, sharing your journey in the Battle For Hopeā¦ sharing the conviction in both our hearts that one day there will be a cure for A.L.S.!
