And When I Think Of You

You and I walk our footsteps in life and, although we are many miles apart, I carry you close to my heart. My prayer was that one day I would meet you and that prayer was granted to me, confirming all that I had already known….

You cared for me before you knew me as you have done with so many who leave footprints in your life. You give to others from the depths of your heart; yet you ask little in return. You reach out to others and touch them with kindness because that is what your heart tells you to do...

You calm the strong winds in the lives of others. You bring a ray of sunshine into windows where no sun has shone for days at a time. You bring laughter to lives you have declared are special to you… even though you may not know them very well.

You love from your heart unconditionally; you give from your heart at times when you have little to give … and yet … you bring riches to our world by being a part of it. I can see the beauty of your soul just by looking into your eyes; but nothing can be more beautiful than your heart and the loving arms that hold others close to you.

I see a woman who holds the gift of a kind soul. I see a woman who overcomes tragedy in her life to go on to become a pillar of strength for those around her. I see a friend who will hold me on the days when the sun does not shine and if need be…. slide gently with me to the floor and be by my side until we both have the strength to rise and overcome….

And when I think of you…. I will remember our time together and all of the love you put into the short time we had to be with one another. I know in my heart that I must be very special; God gave me a Blessing in having you in my life … and I want you to know that on the days when you need someone … I will be there for you … always!
